Prized undefeated prospect and Top 15 world-ranked Lightweight Jose "El Chon" Zepeda (18-0, 16 KOs) has been added to the TV portion of the April 26th Solo Boxeo Tecate on Unimas card at Oceanview Pavilion in Port Hueneme, CaliforniaZepeda, a devastating puncher who holds a nearly 90% knockout rate and is riding a 12-bout knockout streak, will face off against perennial spoiler and tough-as-nails veteran, Robert "Red Hot" Frankel (32-14-1).

Zepeda fought three times in 2013 against former world title challenger Ricardo Dominguez (37-9-2), battle-tested veteranLuis Arceo (28-11-4), and fellow prospectEmanuel (9-1). All three bouts ended early before the fourth round. In his last bout March 1, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas, Zepeda outdid his 2013 performances with an even earlier second round stoppage of Johnny Edwards (15-6-1).

Zepeda is a Southern California native, born in Long Beach and residing in La Puente. He is trained by Robert Alcazar, the former trainer ofOscar De La Hoya during his Gold Medal and 7 World Title run, the late two-division ChampionEdwin Valero, and current world title challengerJesse Vargas. In preparation for his April 26th bout at the Oceanview PavilionZepeda spent the past few weeks helping to prepare Timothy Bradley for this Saturday’s pay-per-view showdown with Manny Pacquiao.

BOXING BY THE BEACH takes place onSaturday, April 26, 2014 at the Oceanview Pavilion, located at 575 E. Surfside Drive inPort Hueneme, California. Battle of the Badges IV – “War on the Shore”

Port Hueneme, CA – On Saturday, January 26, Oceanview Pavilion, official sponsor, will host the “Battle of the Badges IV” the 4th AnnualAmateur Boxing event benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme. Thecharity-boxing event will feature deputy sheriffs and police officers versus firefighters from Ventura County.

This boxing event puts members of the Ventura County Deputy Sheriff’s Association and other law enforcement officersup against the Ventura County Professional Firefighters Association and other firefighters for a good cause.

The Ventura County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, the Ventura County Professional Firefighter’s Association, Oxnard Police Officers Association,Port Hueneme Police Officers Association and Oceanview Pavilion have come together to unite in the spirit of giving from the heart to benefit our communities.

Money raised will go to support over 9,000 youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oxnard and Port Hueneme. “Oceanview Pavilion’s Performing Arts Theatre by the beach is honored to join hands with the Ventura County Firefighters Association, Ventura County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, Oxnard Police Officers Association, Port Hueneme Police Officers Association and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oxnard and Port Hueneme,” said Sharon Kloeris, Executive Vice President.

The Official sponsor is Oceanview Pavilion and some of the current sponsors include Oceanview Pavilion, Pizza man Dan’s, Alexander of Oxnard and Alpan Lighting. The team sponsors are the Law Offices of David Lehr and the Law offices of Gordon, Edelstein, Krepack, Grant, Felton and Goldstein.

The doors open at 4:00 pm with the first bout starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be 10 matches, each are three, two-minute rounds.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme (BGCOP) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) youth service organization serving over 9,000 boys and girls ages 6-18years. The Mission of BGCOP is “to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who needs us most, to realize their full potential, as productive, responsible and caring citizens”. Annual member dues is $20.00 however, no one is turned away regardless of ability to pay. Program Areas include Career & Education, Character
